GLASS
Past exhibition
Overview
GLASS showcases four of the country's leading artists working with glass: Crystal Chain Gang, Te Rongo Kirkwood, Emily Siddell, and Chris Charteris.
Working across cast, blown, and kiln-formed techniques, these artists draw on both time-honoured studio traditions and customary practices, while pushing the material into new and unexpected territory. Their works balance refinement and experimentation, revealing glass as both an ancient medium and a site of contemporary exploration.
This exhibition showcases the vitality of glass as a fine art medium in New Zealand today. Internationally groundbreaking, innovative, provocative, grounded, and stunning in its diversity.
